Jason Aldean Debuts Video for ‘Lights Come On’ [WATCH]
The video mashes up narration from Aldean describing the tour with real-time shots of what he describes: first he explains that when there are “this many people here to watch your show and singing your songs back to you, it exceeds anything I had ever dreamed up,” and then we see the people he’s talking about: thousands of clapping and screaming fans waiting for him to come out on stage.
The video flashes quickly between black and white and color, and between the mundane and spectacular aspects of tour life. We get to see Aldean and his bandmates rocking out hard to enthusiastic crowds, spraying his fans with a smashed can of beer and plenty of before and after-party shots; but the video also reveals the grittier side of touring: from crew members setting up speakers and equipment to Aldean looking exhausted in the backseat of a car.
For the most part, though, the video is a celebration of the party atmosphere Aldean creates with his shows. There’s a lot of dancing and drinking — on stage and off — and that’s what Aldean wanted to show.
“That’s what I really wanted to capture with this video…that moment we step on stage and give it everything we have,” he says in a press release. “I want the fans to forget their cares and let loose for a few hours. They’re the ones who have allowed us to stay around this long. They’re still here supporting us, and that is why we do what we do every night.”
