I Love Making Chocolate Covered Strawberries

I decided to try something new in the kitchen. I love chocolate covered strawberries. Therefore, I thought I would try my hand at making them. I went to the store bought all the ingredients including coconut, white chocolate dark chocolate, pecans, and walnuts. I think they turned out pretty good.

I think the secret to making the chocolate stay on the strawberry is the shortening I use about a tablespoon per package of chocolate. The chocolate stays on pretty good. I also use a toothpick to roll the strawberry around in the chocolate. Then I put the strawberries on wax paper and put them in the refrigerator for about a half hour.

I have always thought that chocolate covered strawberries were so romantic not to mention how good they taste. They really are easy to make I think it is just the prep work that takes the longest melting the chocolate a crock-pot.
