Britton's Nincompoop in the news yesterday was a woman who shot her husband after he threatened to hurt one of her cats. . .

Now, I love my pets, and I've gone to some pretty extreme measures to rescue them from their own stupidity (just yesterday for instance my middle dog sliced her rear paw open), but never have I one to the extremes that 66-year-old Steve Gustafson had to!

Apparently he was trimming an oak tree outside of his home when he heard his 9-year West Highland Terrier, Bounce, cry out in pain. When he looked he saw his beloved pet being held in the mouth of a 7-foot-long alligator!

The gator was trying to get it's "Scooby Snack" back to the water of a nearby pond, when Gustafson jumped on it the reptile and wrestled his best friend from it's jaws and carried her back to shore.

I had a friend that almost drowned when we we kids trying to save his dog after it jumped in the canal and couldn't get back to shore, and I also know a gal that pays for her dog to have cancer treatments.

From shooting their spouse, wrestling alligators, and paying insane amounts of money to keep their pets alive, these people REALLY love their animals, what about you?
