Find a penny, pick it up. All the day you'll have good luck. That's the old saying.

Now, the saying could find a penny and get $1,000!

100 'lucky' pennies have been hidden all across the United States, including in Colorado. Each one is worth a cool grand.

Now, I am fairly sure that Grand Junction is not one of the initial penny cities. But, have you ever logged onto that website wheresgeorge.com? It tracks dollar bills and tells you where they have been. It's amazing to see how one single bill travels to so many different locations. They should have their own frequent flier miles program.

I bring up that website for this reason. Who is to say that a penny in Denver wouldn't wind up in Junction? It would not take much effort. Someone from here is headed to go watch the Broncos play at Mile High, picks up a penny in Denver, sticks it in their pocket, drives back to Grand Junction. Boom! So simple. That penny could easily wind up in your change from lunch or be sitting in those 'penny cups' sitting by the register.

For $1,000 you may want to take a second look at your change jar. Or even your pockets right now!
