Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton + More on Board for Heal the Music Day

Dierks Bentley, Gary Allan, Vince Gill and Keith Urban are just four of the 56,000 people in Nashville making their living in the music industry. On October 20, they’ll step up for Heal the Music Day in recognition of their peers who lack high quality health insurance and benefits.

Chris Stapleton and his wife Morgane, Lee Brice, Miranda Lambert and Ronnie Dunn are a few more who support the Music Health Alliance‘s day of recognition. The nonprofit works to connect those in the music industry with needed doctors, medicine and even financial assistance in times of illness. These singers and more have pledged to donate a percentage of their revenues to support musicians in times of medical crisis.

Rodney Crowell led a group to declare Oct. 20 Heal the Music Day on Tuesday (June 27). Mayor Megan Barry says it’s “about giving back and showing we care about those who put the music in Music City.”

A press release notes that since 2013, Music Health Alliance has saved $16 million in medical bills and served more than 5,600 people in the music community. Joey + Rory singer Rory Feek is one of their clients who was on hand to help introduce the benefit.

Songwriters, producers, audio engineers and musicians are also able to benefit from Music Health Alliance’s services. Anyone who has worked in the music industry for two or more years or who have credited contributions to four commercially released recordings or videos are eligible. Spouses, partners and children of qualifying individuals may also receive access to the non-profit’s services from birth to end of life.
