There's a new scam going on around Western Colorado, and if you haven't been targeted yet, you might be soon. Grand Valley residents are receiving calls from someone claiming to be with the United States Treasury, Have you been called?

Keep in mind, government agencies, including the IRS, will never call you. They make contact via letter. According to KKCO 11 News, the calls being received around the valley have been left by someone claiming to be with the United States Treasury, informing the recipient they must appear in court. These calls are coming in from a 607 area code.

We received this phone call from a KEKB listener earlier this morning.

It goes without saying you should never give out account information or your social security number to anyone unless you know for certain who they are.
