Have You Met Grand Junction’s K9 Police Dogs?

Meet Joker and Nero, two canines serving Western Colorado with the Grand Junction Police Department's K9 Unit. Are you familiar with what's involved with being a dog handler with the department?

The Grand Junction Police Department has two K9 officers, namely Officers Hawkins and Earthman.

A K9's job includes a number of tasks ranging from sniffing for drugs, searching for lost people, building searches, and on occasion, biting a bad guy.

In the near future, the Grand Junction Police Department will present a short series featuring their K9 unit. These features and videos will discuss the officers' training, commitments, and equipment. The series will also feature the dogs and highlights from their careers.
