I grew up in Woodland Park, Colorado. It's just up the pass from Colorado Springs. Later in life, I moved to Manitou Springs with my oldest friend from Woodland and her sister.

I've been asked time and time again if Manitou Springs has witches and do I believe in that kind of stuff?

Trust me when I say I've seen my fair share of witchcraft in Manitou! I know for a fact that Manitou Springs is full of witchcraft. I lived there for many years.

At first, I felt like Manitou was a heavy dark place, kinda like Grand Junction honestly. Don't be mad I just feel a heaviness in the air here.

It's actually been hard for me because it feels dark.

During my time in Manitou Springs, I had come to realize I was in a bad situation. I remember being a little girl driving through the town and instantly feeling unsafe.

Don't get me wrong. There are so many good people in the area, but let's be honest here, it's a heavy town. My witch friends will agree, I know it.

Manitou Springs is known for their witches. No, they don't all fly around on broomsticks and wear black pointy hats, but they do take their belief seriously.

For example, I was moving into this old Victorian House in Manitou "back-in-the-day," and my friend whom is a practicing witch and was the one moving out proceeds to tell me, "that there are spirits in the room, but not to worry." She had "cleansed" the place for me.

She goes on to tell me that a prostitute in the 1940's died in the room and that she won't let go.

Here I'm thinking this would be a good time to run. I didn't, but boy I wish I would have. It truly was the most haunting, heavy place I've ever encountered.

To answer the question about witches residing in Manitou, I can say yes they do, but I can also say with 100% certainty that they are all over.

Truthfully, witches are everywhere. Just keep a light on.
