Mesa County Sheriff's Deputies detained several teenagers after responding to reports of a fight and gunfire.

The fight involving approximately 20 teens happened Sunday (December 17) around 2:30 p.m. in a park near 32 1/2 Road. The park is also near Rocky Mountain Elementary School.

According to the Sheriff's Office, no one was hit by the gunshot and they believe the gun may have discharged accidentally.

There was at least one reported injury from the fight, but the extent of that or other possible injuries is unknown.

Sheriff's Deputies confiscated several guns from a vehicle following the fight and thirteen of the teens involved were cited for disorderly conduct and released.
