It's time! The annual Grand Junction Guns -vs- Hoses charity broomball event. Grand Junction Police takes on Grand Junction Fire Department.

Let the games begin. This Sunday, November 19 at 4:30 p.m. the battle begins. The 2017 Guns -vs- Hoses broomball tournament takes place at the Glacier Ice Arena located at 2515 Riverside Parkway. But, it is about much more than who wins or loses.

Every year this event raises money to help out one of our own public safety families. This year it is about Axel. Born 29 weeks early, it was definitely a struggle for Axel and his parents, whom both work in the public safety field. It was a long four-month battle, but finally, Axel was cleared to come home. All of the money raised from this year's event will go to the family for medical bills.

Tickets are only $3 at the door. All ages are welcome.

For more information on this event contact the Community Outreach Office of the Grand Junction Fire Department at GJfirePIO@gjcity.org or call (970) 549-585.
