Grand Junction is getting national attention for travel and tourism with an impressive five awards in 2014 including the prestigious Jack Snow Award for Outstanding Volunteer won by Doris Blake, (pictured).

The Jack Snow award is given to volunteers in recognition of their contributions to tourism. As a volunteer, Ms. Blake has spent over 5,000 hours promoting Grand Junction and making the visitor experience memorable.

Other awards include two HSMAI Adrian awards presented to the Grand Junction Visitors and Convention Bureau for creative excellence in tourism marketing. The awards are for the 'Welcome Email' and creative direct mail.

The Grand Junction Visitors and Convention Bureau also received the 2014 Gold Hermes Creative Award for their mobile website.

Grand Junction restaurant 626 on Rood received an award for the 2014 Colorado Roots Restaurant Challenge. The award is presented to Colorado restaurants who promote the state's urban and culinary experiences, including the use of local products.
