It's a daily look at the arrests, investigations, and calls that our Grand Junction's finest have to contend with every day.

It's probably a document you don't want your name on. But, it is a pretty eye-opening look at what the Grand Junction Police Department goes through on a day to day basis.

So, you want to be a police officer? You should get ready to use these words a lot:

  • violation
  • warrant
  • controlled substance
  • public marijuana consumption
  • theft
  • protection order
  • disorderly conduct
  • restraining order
  • fraud
  • drugs
  • shoplifting

Those were terms and phrases used on just ONE day of duty.

It's pretty amazing what these officers do for us. Putting their lives on the line every day that they go to work. Can you say that about your job? All of a sudden your job doesn't sound so bad does it? I know mine doesn't.

I have four close friends that are in the police force in one aspect or another. To hear their stories is both entertaining and frightening. But, they all love what they do. And I'm glad they do. I don't think it's a job you can give it 50 percent. Let's never lose respect for what law enforcement does for us.
