Guess you could say that they are persistent. Don't fall for it.

From KKCO News, it looks like the Grand Junction area is under it's latest phone scam. A Mesa County resident had received a phone message from an individual claiming to be from the Unites States Treasury Department. The resident was then informed that she was due in court for a federal criminal defense.

Well, it doesn't work that way. The Mesa County Sheriff's Office states that this sort of federal process is all done in person. Never over the phone.

Police were able to track the incoming number to Suffolk County, New York. So, if you receive a phone call or a message from someone stating that you are due in court or that the Sheriff is on his way to your home, hang up and immediately call either the Grand Junction Police or the Mesa County Sheriff's Office.
