The family and friends of Paige Birgfeld will finally have their day in court.

Jury selection has begun in the murder case of Lester Ralph Jones.

This story, that caught the attention of the entire nation, began June 30, 2007 when Paige Birgfeld was reported missing. Fast forward to March 6, 2012 when hikers discovered skeletal remains on Well's Gulch Road in Delta County.

The process of selecting a jury began on Monday. Almost 600 perspective residents have been summoned. The process will eventually reduce that number to a final 12 jurors with three alternatives.

There are three counts against Lester Ralph Jones. First- and second-degree murder, along with second-degree kidnapping. Jones has pleaded not guilty to all of those charges.
