A man was arrested after Mesa County Sheriff's Deputies found the camper on his property was stolen. But, that's just the beginning of his troubles.

The stolen camper was located in the 1300 block of North 23rd Street, Wednesday afternoon. Deputies also located the man suspected of stealing the 32 foot camper. That suspect is 41-year-old Bryan Johnson.

While arresting and taking Johnson into custody, two deputies were bitten by dogs on the property. The deputies who were bit were treated for minor injuries. The owners of the dogs were ticketed by Mesa County Animal Control for failing to control the dogs.

Deputies noted other offenses and Johnson is facing multiple felony charges including:

  • First Degree Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft
  • Possession of Weapons by a Previous Offender
  • Possession of a Dangerous or Illegal Weapon
  • Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor

A cash bond was set at $2,000 but records show Johnson is currently on hold which may make him ineligible for release from the Mesa County Detention Facility after posting bail.
