The company behind Applebee's and IHOP has announced they will close nearly 160 locations nationwide. Are the Grand Junction ones on the list?

Dine Equity made the declaration last Thursday. The reasons behind the closures are to trim costs and to boost sagging sales.

An official list of which locations will be shut down has NOT been released. But, it was stated that Dine Equity will close between 105 and 135 Applebee's stores and 20-25 IHOP restaurants.

There are 1,811 Applebee's and 1,646 IHOPS across the country. The company said that the closure list will be based upon these factors:

'franchisee profitability, operational results, and meeting brand quality standards.'

Hopefully, they will leave our Grand Junction locations alone. Does anyone have any information on this? If so, please let us know.
