Grand Junction's Comic Con isn't for everyone, but everyone who is there is all for it.

The 4th annual Mesa County Libraries Comic Con is this weekend at Two Rivers Convention Center bringing comic fans together from all generations. Whether it is a Justice League superhero or a character from Star Wars or Harry Potter, this is where everyone is accepted, and nobody has to feel out of place because of their comic obsession.

The event features panel discussions, costume contests for kids and adults, and special guests who are notable in the comic world. The events and activities are just part of the appeal of comic con. The rest of it is the comradery and the feeling of kinship among the comic faithful.

Special guests at Comic Con are author Kevin J. Anderson and comic creator Mike Baron, plus Kirby Krackle. Admission is free if you have a Mesa County Library card, or $5 if you don't.

For those that just can't get enough of the comic kingdom, the day continues at 5:00 at the Avalon Theatre with Cospalooza, a fundraiser for the Avalon Theatre Foundation.

Cospalooza is an opportunity to celebrate pop culture, cosplay, video games on the big screen, a photo booth, prizes, fandom and a concert featuring Kirby Krackle and TekForce.

The  "nerdiest night humanly possible" is how Bryan Wade of the foundation describes the evening. Admission is $15, or $50 for a family.

It's going to be a big day for western Colorado comic fans. May the force be with you all.
