There you have it, conclusive proof Grand Junction is the best community on the planet. People came out in force Saturday to "Stuff the Bus" and insure every student in the valley has the school supplies they need. There's only one day left (Sunday), and more donations are needed.

This was the scene midday Saturday, August 6, at Rimrock Walmart. Helen, a "Stuff the Bus" volunteer, gave up her day off in order to spend the day at the store, collecting donations.

This Sunday, August 7, is the last day to donate school supplies. Donations will be distributed on Monday (Aug 8) and the kids will be back in school on Wednesday.

Items needed most include:

  1. backpacks
  2. markers
  3. pens
  4. pencils
  5. notebooks
  6. paper
  7. colored pencils
  8. crayons

Check out the video above. Look at the donations received by 11:00 a.m., and compare it to how many donations they had by noon. "Stuff The Bus" has seen a ton of love this year, but more donations are needed.

The final day to donate is Sunday, Aug 7. The bus will be at Rimrock Walmart from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Helen will be there again to receive your donations, and give your a heartfelt "Thank you."
