Some thought the day would never come, but, ahead of schedule, the Grand Avenue Bridge in Glenwood Springs finally gets an opening date.

Originally planned to open on before Thanksgiving, crews have been working diligently to finish before then and they did.

Now, the plan is to open later Monday or early Tuesday. Although, they're not sure how many lanes will be opened.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Monday, November 6 at 4 p.m., rain or shine. You can join the celebration by meeting on the north side bridge deck, above the pedestrian underpass.

It's been a long time coming, but the new improvements will make travel through Glenwood Springs much smoother.
