A 20-year-old Grand Junction resident is doing her part to show support for the Grand Junction Police Department and the Mesa County Sheriff's Office.

Christina Abel is simply trying to send a message to our law enforcement, that this community cares and supports what these brave and selfless men and woman do every day.

This comes from a story on KKCO News reported by Tanni Deb. She had a chance to catch up with Christina and hear why this is so important to her. Abel stated:

The officers in this county really work hard to protect us and serve the city, I think it’s just really great for our community to come together and just show support.

So, when you see a strip of blue tape across the rear windshield of the vehicle in front of you, you have Christina to thank. The color blue has long time been the traditional symbol of police uniforms.
