A situation where nobody wins happened in Fruita over the weekend. A man shot and killed a family pet because he felt he was in danger. Would you be able to do the same?

As a gun owner and having my CCW permit, I feel more of a responsibility not to use my firearm when I carry. That being said, I'm also ready to use it to protect my family and myself if I have to.

So, would I shoot a dog if I had to? Yes. But only if I had NO other options. The standard rule of gun safety and ownership is "never point your firearm at anything you don't want to destroy."

Nobody can predict the behavior of dogs, or any other animals, and I don't know anyone who would kill a family pet without provocation.

I hate to think someone would kill any living creature out of malice.

In that Fruita neighborhood, nobody wins.
