Do you hear that thumping sound? There are a few new music events coming to the Mesa County Libraries in the middle of June. There will be a Drum Safari and a Live Looping demonstration with Brandon Draper.

Drum Safari, an worldwide acclaimed children's interactive music program, will bring its exciting percussion show to Mesa County Libraries June 16-18 with several performances. Drum Safari plays an energetic, family-friendly show that's sure to delight kids and adults alike.
Here is a schedule of performances:
10 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, at the Palisade Branch
2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at the Clifton Branch
10 a.m. Thursday, June 18, at the Fruita Branch
6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18, at the Downtown Farmers Market (co-hosted by Friends of the Mesa County Libraries).
All performances are open to the public at no charge, so don't miss this fun and music at these great musical showcases.
Also coming to the Mesa County Central Library at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17th will be Brandon Draper, who runs Drum Safari with his wife, Teryn. Brandon is an accomplished musician who is on the music faculty at the University of Kansas. Brandon will be presenting a fascinating display of live looping that you won't soon forget. In this rare musical performance, Draper creates "loops" using a collection of exotic instruments, including didjerido from Australia, Kanjira from India, assorted drums, bass guitar, voice, and laptop. This is another free, all ages event and seating will be limited.
