One of the most scenic areas in the United States is less than two hours from Grand Junction and admission to Arches National Park will be free on November 11.

This is the last of the free days for 2015 and it comes just over a month from the onset of winter.

Normally, the entrance fee at Arches National Park, five miles south of Moab, Utah, is $25 per vehicle and $10 for bikers and hikers. For Veterans Day, the entrance fee will be waived for all visitors.

The Visitor Center is currently open from 8:00AM-5:30 p.m., but in November closes at 4:30 p.m. The park itself is open 24 hours a day, year round.

At Arches National Park, you will find opportunities for hiking, biking, camping, horseback riding, and photography. Backpacking is available on a limited basis by permit only.

Whether you want to camp, or just go for a day of hiking and exploring, you can do it November 11 for just the price of a tank of gas. Arches National Park is a popular destination so, if you go, expect to have plenty of company.
