Party Foul! A UK family received an invoice for £15.95 ($24.14 USD) after their five-year-old son missed a schoolmate's birthday party. Following their decision not to pay, they've been threatened with legal action. What do you think? Should they pay?

According to ABC News, after five-year-old Alex Walsh failed to attend the party, he came home from preschool with an invoice for £15.95 ($24.14 USD). It seems these were fees for RSVPing and not attending the fellow preschooler's birthday party.

The BBC New reports Adam's father, Derek Nash, said, "It was an invoice for a 'child no-show" fee for the party... and it was a proper invoice with full official details, even her bank details, and e-mail address, and name."

Nash says he confronted the person responsible for the invoice, Julie Lawrance, and expressed his frustration and his refusal to pay. Lawrence is now threatening to take the family to small claims court.

The argument could be made that Alex's parents should have made an effort to contact Lawrence ahead of time and inform her he would be unable to attend the party. At the same time, one could argue sending an invoice to the parents is more than a little tacky.

What do you think, should the parents be held responsible for the bill? Part of the bill? Cast your vote! If you have a suggestion other than the options listed below, write it in, and it will be added.
