Family Only Calls When They Need Something — Listener Dilemma of the Day

I can sympathize with this gal, she says her family ONLY calls when they need something, but wont answer the phone when she calls! Do you have some advice for her?

Lisa sent me an email after a night of family frustration, she says,

Hey Mack, love your show! Always thought it was weird that people would email you their problems, but since I can't come up with a solution on my own . . . I thought what the heck!

I have a very large family with an over 40 group & and under 40 group with me right in the middle.

The problem is the only time we see the under 40 group is when their kids have a birthday OR they need something! For example: I have tried to contact them for over a month with various family activities, get togethers & issues, but have not heard from ANY of them for a MONTH!

But last week, members from two of the families contacted me last week needing someone to watch their kids & needing to borrow tools!

Frankly I don't want to help ANY of them anymore, but I know I need to be the bigger person.

How should I handle this?

I wish I had some for this gal, but I'm dealing with almost the same situation in my family, the only difference is my son is the one who suffers because he doesn't get to see his cousins!
