Additional Information

Animal lovers can support homeless pets by donating food and other needed items to the Roice-Hurst Humane Society June 7-9 at the Walmart at 2881 North Ave.
Donation bins will be located in the front of the store, where shoppers can deposit cat and dog items.

For cats, most-needed contributions are: Walmart’s Special Kitty brand non-clumping cat litter: dry Purina One cat, kitten, senior and weight-management formulas; and cat toys.

Dog items high on the shelter’s “wish list” are: dry Purina dog food (including senior and weight-management formulas); durable chew toys for medium and large dogs; and pill pockets to help administer medicine.

Along with the three-day donation drive, shelter representatives will have a booth at Walmart from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7. They are planning to bring an adoptable dog or two and will be selling Roice-Hurst branded merchandise and quilt raffle tickets. A food wagon will be on site, with proceeds going to the shelter.

Nestle Purina Pet Care Co. is cosponsoring the event and will have a representative on hand with giveaways and pet food coupons.
