CMU's annual Holiday Concert returns on Sunday, December 7th at 3:00 pm in the Robinson Theatre. Audiences will enjoy carols in the lobby with the university's small ensembles. Performing in the Robinson Theatre will be the jazz ensemble, all of the music department choirs and the CMU Symphony. The concert will be fun for the whole family as the audience is invited to join in singing holiday carols.

The jazz ensemble will premiere an arrangement of Blessings on the Menorah that was written my the ensemble's director, Darin Kamstra, and an arrangement of Oh Tannenbaum by Gordon Goodwin called Yo Tannenbaum!

The choirs and orchestra will collaborate on three works: Dona Nobis Pacem from Bach's B minor Mass; The Shepherd's Farewell from Berlioz's L'infance du Christ; and a John Rutter arrangement of We Wish you a Merry Christmas.

Dona Nobis Pacem translates to "Give us Peace" and is the final movement from, arguably, Bach's greatest masterpiece. The message is ever relevant and meaningful, not only within the context of a holiday concert, but all year round.

Tickets are available at the Box Office by calling 248-1604.
