With the continuing drought in the area, Grand Junction and the entire Western Slope area businesses are doing what they can to conserve water.

According to reports, with the help of DRIP (Drought Response Information Project,) they are working with businesses and individuals on ways to conserve water. Right now it's on a voluntary basis.

I can remember living in San Diego under the same conditions, I think the motto was "Don't Be A Water Hog" conserve water.

People could not water their lawns, or wash their cars, they asked people to turn off the water while brushing their teeth and not let it run. I remember officials even saying that if you took a bath use the bath water to water your plants.

I think they even asked us to limit our showers and not shower for more than five minutes. Those were scary times.

The Grand Valley has voluntary restrictions on water use.

What are you doing to conserve water?
