Should dogs be banned from Grand Mesa National Forest?

As the number of complaints and grievances rise about dog issues on the trails of the Grand Mesa National Forest, they are asking the public to weigh in with their opinions.

It's not really the dogs themselves, it's the dog owners. The objections are mainly about dog 'poop' left unattended on the trails and dogs being allowed to roam without a leash. These are two violations of park policy. And to be honest, violations of common sense. So, a handful of inconsiderate dog owners may ruin this for the rest us?

At least we  are being offered the chance to voice our concerns. The District Ranger will be taking the public's feedback until March 20.

You can submit your feelings by e mail at Comments-rocky-mountain-gmug-grande-valley@fs.fed.us or by phone at (970) 242-8211 or by mailing a letter to Grand Valley District Ranger 2777 Crossroads Blvd, Unit 1, Grand Junction, CO 81506.
