There are changes to the District 51 busing routes. Are your kids being affected?

To make sure you have the correct information head over to KKCO News where they have the complete story.

Student Transportation Company of America has announced they are eliminating three bus routes, bringing the number down from 125 to 122 and saving $125,000.

New walking boundaries established in 2012 have also been a reason for some of the changes. For example, stops near Redlands Middle and Chipeta Elementary Schools have been scrubbed due to the fact that now those stops fall inside the two-mile walking radius for elementary schools and three-mile for middle schools. Here are those:

'Canyon Creek Rd and Baseline Rd

Baseline Rd and Roundup Dr

F ¾ Rd and 20 ½ Rd

F ¾ Rd and Independence Valley Dr

Independence Valley Dr and Liberty Ct

20 Rd and F ¼ Rd

Broadway and Big Stone Dr

Colonial Dr and Catskill Ct

Rushmore Dr and Shenandoah Dr

Bryce Ct and Carlsbad Dr

Panorama Dr and Teton Rd

W. Sequoia Rd and Peony Dr

2060 Feree Dr

20 ½ Rd and S. Terrace Dr

20 ½ Rd and N. Terrace Dr

F ¾ Rd and Poplar Ct
The eliminated stops for Chipeta Elementary were not available.

There are a lot more elements to these changes. I wish I had more room to go through them in detail. So, if you haven't been notified, please contact District 51 or head to KKCO News for the entire story.

With school starting August 10 we had all better make sure our kids get there.
