I sure didn't. The actual title of the movie was "Speed Zone," and it featured some of the biggest names in the business. For the most part, it starred everybody but the one person it needed for a Cannonball Run movie, namely Burt Reynolds.

"Speed Zone," a.k.a. "Cannonball Run III,"  was released in 1989 with a cast including John Candy, Tom and Dick Smothers, Donna Dixon, Matt Frewer, Joe Flaherty, John Schneider, Eugene Levy, Brooke Shields, Alyssa Milano, Richard Petty, Peter Boyle, and Lee Van Cleef. The only returning cast member from previous Cannonball Run films was Jamie Farr.

If you're wondering why you've never heard of this movie, watch the clip below. Your questions will be answered.

In this film, all of the racers are arrested before the race even begins. The organizers of the race consequently have to come up with all new racers.

The film was nominated for three Golden Raspberry Awards including Worst Picture and Worst Director. Brooke Shields won for Worst Supporting Actress.
