Delaney Day: Another Day For Helping Others

Delaney Day is not just a day to celebrate her birthday; but a day to celebrate life while still helping others.

It is important to remember that we don't celebrate Delaney and continue to show community support for her because of the amazing young lady that she was, but for her ability to see past cancer.  Her advocacy to find a cure and to comfort those who also faced the disease.  Her ability to look beyond what she was dealing with to fight for others struggling not only with cancer but all struggles.  Delaney Donates began with her wanting to help others and continues to do so today.  The foundation has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for people in this community.  I believe it is important for the community to remember when they see things like Delaney Day and other events that our community continues to support that it is a strong reminder of a young lady mature beyond her years leaving her mark on this world and paving the path for us to all follow.

Although it is named Delaney Day, it is important to remember that events like this help other children by bringing more awareness to childhood cancer, and spreads joy at the same time.

Garcia described Delaney as a high spirited, loving, and beautiful dancing queen. Delaney set an example just by being herself and seeing the positive in life; let's keep her legacy going and spread the love.
