Daniel Stetzel Admits to Murdering Mother

Daniel Stetzel, son of the woman found dead in the desert in July has admitted to killing his mother.

A sad end to a tragic story.

Kathleen Stetzel's body was found in the desert last June and her son, Daniel Stetzel has admitted to killing her.

Kathleen's family had reported her missing July 22 and her body was found July 24.

Daniel Stetzel was arrested July 28 on outstanding warrants and with new charges of criminal impersonation and drugs. He was being held at the Mesa Country Detention Facility unable to bond out.

On August 25, Daniel confessed to investigators and public defenders that he did in fact, kill his mom. In the arrest affidavit, Stetzel told authorities,

Ok, I just uh, I just would like to, I’d like to just tell you, I’d like to tell you that I’m guilty of what happened, or that I’m guilty, that I did it, and uh, that’s all I really have to say, that’s all I wanted to tell you.

On August 26 he was charged with second degree murder. He remains in Jail without bond.
