The Grand Junction Police Department is continuing to search for a man who stole a wallet and then used a credit card inside to make fraudulent purchases.

According to Crime Stoppers of Mesa County, at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, a woman left her wallet at the customer service counter at the Walmart store located at 2881 North Avenue. A credit card from the wallet was later used by a man to make a purchase at the Maverik gas station on Patterson Road.

Security cameras at the Maverik show the man who stole the wallet and then fraudulently used the credit card as a White or possibly Hispanic with dark hair. At the time of the fraudulent purchase, he was wearing a plaid black and white long-sleeved shirt, and jeans. Security footage from the store showed the man leaving the store in a silver Dodge Ram truck.

If you know the identity of the suspect in the photo or recognize the truck, you are asked to call the Grand Junction Police Department at 970-242-6707. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers of Mesa County at 970-241-7867 or online at the Crime Stoppers website.

If the information given leads to an arrest in this case, the person providing the information is eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 and will remain completely anonymous.
