"Cool Jazz," consisting of four members of the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra, presents a free performance of Claude Bolling's Suite for Flute and Piano tomorrow night (Thursday, Dec. 6th) at 7 at On Stage at Back Porch Music.

Cool Jazz consists of Shelley Warren on flute, Amy Markakis on piano, KEKB's Waylon Jordan on bass, and Rob Labig on Drums. The group frequently tours Western Colorado schools and performs for the students, hoping to encourage them to include music as part of their education.

Thursday's concert is free, but donations are greatly appreciated, with all proceeds going to the Robert "Bob" Grant Memorial Scholarship, a full-tuition and fees music scholarship to Colorado Mesa University.

The group will perform all 7 movements of Claude Bolling's Suite for Flute and Piano, a contemporary work that spent over 500 weeks on the Billboard Album Charts.

Music starts at 7 at On Stage at Back Porch Music at 995 Independent Avenue in Grand Junction. Seating is limited.
