This issue will be on the November ballot. How would you vote?

The Campaign for a Healthy Colorado has gathered it's signatures. Now, it is up to the voters of our great state of Colorado to decide.

The move is to significantly raise the state tax on a pack of cigarettes from 84 cents to $2.59. That's more than triple the current amount. The CHC says that by voting this through it will raise almost $315 million that can be put towards state anti-smoking and several other health campaigns in Colorado.

So, what is your vote on this going to be? Is it fair to tax something so heavily? It's legal. I remember the saying no taxation without representation. Could this be considered a case of that? It doesn't seem fair or right to just have one person say, 'Hey, you know, what? I am sick of these smokers, so let's tax the hell out of them for no good reason. I've got it, let's TRIPLE the amount of tax.'

Then you can insert your own sinister laugh HERE.

I feel there are more than enough necessary and unnecessary taxes. Please, stop.

As George Bush once said-NO NEW TAXES.
