It was a wonderful homecoming when a Colorado soldier returned home and surprised his four kids at the airport.

Sgt. First Class Joshua J. Ulmer of Pueblo had been deployed overseas for 9 months when he surprised his unsuspecting kids who thought they were at the airport waiting for their aunt.

In the video, the kids are clearly surprised and thrilled to see their dad, and he looks just as happy to see them.

How difficult it must be when men and women are deployed for long periods of time away from their families. It's difficult on both sides. But, oh, the joy of the happy reunion when a soldier returns safely to U.S. soil and the eager arms of their kids and a spouse.

A big heartfelt thanks to Sgt. Ulmer for his service to our country. Along with his family, we are extremely grateful for his safe return home.
