While many think of Colorado as the "great outdoors" capital of the world, a new study by the US Government ranks the state at No. 1 when it comes to cultural outings such as theater, concerts, and museums. On average, how often do you take in a "cultural" event?

According to the Denver Post, data collected from the National Endowment for the Arts suggests adult Coloradans visit museums, theater productions, and concert halls, at a rate of about 15 percent more than the national average.

The data from the National Endowment of the Arts reports close to 52 percent of Colorado adults attend live performing arts events. The national average is considerably lower at 37.4 percent.

The 2012 "Survey of Public Participation in the Arts" polled more than 37,000 adults as to their attendance at events such as classical music, art museums, and theater productions. Events not included in the survey included pop concerts, sports, and anything taking place at elementary or high schools.
