Colorado Mother Abandons Freezing Child

This Colorado mom will NOT be winning the 'Mother of the Year Award.' She may win the 'I'm Going to Prison' Award.

Nicole Carmon has been charged with Felony Child Abuse. She allegedly left her 2-year-old son in her car, not running, for more than sevens hours.

This bizarre story begins with the a 9-1-1 call over the weekend from a woman who claimed she had been in a car accident the previous night. However, she was not able to tell the operator where it took place, at what time and that she had no idea how she had gotten home. OR where her 2-year-old son is.

Police began a wide search for the woman's vehicle. After about an hour it was spotted in a strip mall parking lot. It was completely covered in snow and had absolutely no signs of being in an accident.

Police reported that the child was found inside the vehicle  in 'a severe state of hypothermia.'

Police and medics rushed the boy to the hospital to be treated for hypothermia and frostbite. As of Sunday night he was expected to live.

                                                   Subject: Felony Child Abuse

'On 12-17-2016, at approximately 10:40 am, Thornton Police Officers were requested by Westminster Police to search for a 2013 green Ford Fusion somewhere in the area of the 10000 block of N. Washington to the 12000 block of N. Washington St., in reference to a possible accident the previous night or early morning, in which a mother had left a child in the car. At approximately 12:00 pm, Thornton Police Officers located the vehicle in a parking space in the commercial center located in the 900 block of E. 120^th Avenue. The vehicle was covered in snow. Officers located a 2 year old boy inside the vehicle. The child was suffering from hypothermia and frost bite. The child was transported to a local hospital.

Police are investigating the circumstances that led up to the child being left alone inside the vehicle and how long the child was left alone. The child’s mother has been arrested for investigation of Felony Child Abuse. She is identified as:
