Colorado Mesa University’s sports program has received much national recognition, especially over the course of the last couple years. This week, Colorado Mesa received yet another national honor for one of its events.

Colorado Mesa’s Swing for Life event was recognized as one of 25 finalists for the 2015 Division II Award of Excellence.

Colorado Mesa raised more than $9,000 during the Swing for Life weekend during four athletic events in October. Swing for Life is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research.

The winner for the 2015 Division II Award of Excellence will be announced January 17 at the 2015 NCAA Convention in Washington, D.C. The winner will receive a nationally-televised football or basketball game during the 2015-16 season.
