Students, faculty, and veterans gathered yesterday on the quad at Colorado Mesa University for the unveiling of the new veterans memorial.

For years, the campus at CMU featured a memorial dedicated to World War II vets. The decision was made to upgrade the memorial to honor all veterans from all branches.

Some elements of the original WWII memorial, specifically the liberty bell, were incorporated into the new design.

The new memorial was unveiled during a ceremony yesterday, hosted by CMU President Tim Foster. Prior the unveiling, the CMU vocal group, The Vocal Chords, performed the national anthem.
