A Colorado man has learned that taking drugs to court is a bad idea.

Most people would have the common sense to know that when you're appearing before a judge on a drug charge, it's probably not a good idea to have drugs in your possession at that moment.

However, that's exactly what happened in an Eagle County Courtroom.

According to the Vail Daily, 43-year-old Juan Jose Vidrio Bibriesca was standing before the judge when he took his cap off and put his hands behind his back. The problem was he had stashed some cocaine in his cap, which promptly fell to the floor for all to see. The result was additional drug charges.

Apparently, it wasn't exactly clear where the packet of drugs came from. But, upon further review of video surveillance, it was determined the cocaine did, in fact, come from Bribriesca. Of course, we can't help but wonder why he was even allowed to wear a hat into the courtroom in the first place.

It was also reported that the man is in the country illegally, so he may have additional problems on top of the new drug charges.
