Parts of the Colorado Freedom Memorial were smashed and destroyed over the holiday weekend.

The memorial, which is located near Buckley Air Force bases in Aurora, has every name of every Colorado person who has fought and died for our freedom. There are nearly 6,000 names.

Over the weekend, it was smashed and defaced. Big chunks of the glass have been knocked out. Damage estimates are around $55,000.

I think we should all help out one way or another. If every person in Grand Junction were to give a dollar. ONE dollar, we could easily cover the costs for all the repairs. That's the least we can do to remember the Colorado soldiers we have lost.
