Create a Grand Junction Cookbook

The website cdkithen.com has a list of recipes that are home grown from the state of Colorado.

There are some delicious looking items on the list. From the standard Denver omelette to the Colorado Bulldog (you'll have to look that one up), to a Chili Colorado omelette.

The city of Denver gets three mentions in this list of Colorado eats, but where is our own Grand Junction, Fruita, Clifton, Palisade or all the others?

Do we not have a recipe or a food item that we can claim as our own?

If you were creating a Western Slope cookbook you would have to have some of these recipes.

• De Beque Brownies (baked at 420 of course)
