Five home-grown canines are in the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.

I will never, quite honestly, 'get' this particular event, but it's a huge deal every year.

The 141st Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show started on Saturday, February 10 and wraps up tonight (Tuesday).

Click here to see and read about the dogs that Colorado proud. No pups from the Western Slope are in the contest, but it still nice to see the Centennial State being represented

Here are the five:

  • Rita, a Keeshond, is from Elbert
  • Faira, also a Keeshond is from Colorado Springs
  • Blus, a Greater Swiss Mountain from Colorado Springs
  • Otto, a Wirehaired Vizal from Greenwood Village
  • Fley, German Shorthaired Pointer from Berthoud

The overall champion, known as the 'Best in Show' will be crowned this evening. Check your local TV listing for channels and times.
