Clifton Postmaster James L. Grant, or Jamie Grant as most called him, like many others from the area, served his country during the first World War. With Veteran's Day close at hand, take a moment to look back at these young sailors and soldiers.

Look at the third slide in the gallery - how old would you guess the young man at far right to be? He looks extremely 16 to me.

After the war, Jamie would later settle in Clifton, Colorado, taking the job as Post Master for the area. His son, and my Grandpa, Robert Grant, would grow up in the valley, and ultimately take the job as Chief Photographer at the Daily Sentinel.

Furthermore, it is at Jamie Grant's old post office desk that I'm writing this post and editing these photos. Bob Grant held on to the desk, and ultimately, it found its way to my office.
