The Canyon View Park playground will be closed this week and the public is being asked to please stay off.

The playground is being closed for protective surfacing repairs Monday, June 27- July 2.

According to City of Grand Junction Communications Manager, Sam Rainguet, the repairs will require sections of the Canyon View Park playground to be closed while crews remove damaged sections and install new surfacing. Once installed, the new protective surfacing will require a closure of the repaired sections for 72 hours at a time.

The city requests cooperation from the public to stay off the new surfacing until temporary fencing is removed from the playground.

Families are encouraged to use play facilities at other Grand Junction Parks this week to allow proper curing time for the repaired sections of the playground.
