Brantley Gilbert's new album, The Devil Don't Sleep, is still more than a week away, but the country star is giving eager fans the opportunity to hear another of its tracks early. Readers can press play above to watch Gilbert perform "Tried to Tell Ya."

Track No. 8 on Gilbert's new record, "Tried to Tell Ya" is a slower track anchored by a strong drum beat and prominent wailing guitar. The lyrics in its verses are quick, while its chorus finds Gilbert musing, "I tried to tell ya I was crazy / Tried to tell ya I was outta my mind / Tried to tell ya I was nothin' but trouble, baby / Yeah, but baby, you saved my life." Rolling Stone Country reports that the singer co-wrote the song with Rhett Akins and Ben Hayslip

There are 16 tracks on The Devil Don't Sleep, and Gilbert's stayed pretty quiet about most of them; however, he's given a few clues about the project as a whole.

"I don’t know if I’ve ever done one as back and forth as this one is," Gilbert says of the album. "It covers a lot of ground as far as just making the genre versatile. It just does a little bit of everything, yings and yangs a lot in the weirdest way. It’s awesome. I’m stoked about it.”
