Carrie Underwood usually doesn't have to work that hard to outshine Brad Paisley at the annual CMA Awards ceremony, but 2016 may be a different story. Paisley will be sporting major bling on Wednesday night (Nov. 2) when he performs at the 50th annual CMA Awards.

According to a press release, the Heart of the South Diamond — which was designed by jeweler Johnathon Arndt — is a yellow diamond weighing more than 20 carats, anchored in a setting that features an additional 15 carats of white diamonds.

The diamond will first appear at the 50th annual CMAs as part of a necklace worn by Paisley’s wife, actor Kimberly Williams-Paisley, on the CMA Awards red carpet. In addition to the Heart of the South Diamond, the necklace will contain 42 carats of white marquise, round and pear-shaped diamonds.

The stone will also appear on Paisley's guitar strap during a special performance. After that, the giant diamond will end up as a ring that Williams-Paisley will wear for the rest of the evening.

Arndt was inspired for the diamond’s design by the couple's "philanthropic heart towards humanity and their love for all," according to the press release.

Paisley is also set to co-host the 50th annual CMAs ceremony with longtime co-host Underwood, with whom he has shared the stage every year since 2008. The 2016 CMA Awards will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, beginning at 8PM ET on ABC.
