Body Found in Ditch

According to a press release from the Mesa County Sheriffs Office a body was found in an irrigation ditch on 17 1/2 rd.

Dispatch received a call around 3:30 p.m. yesterday (Sept. 12th) about a body in an irrigation ditch in the 1200 block of 17 ½ Rd.

The Fruita Police Department, Mesa County Sheriff’s Deputies and Lower Valley Fire Department responded to the area and the subject was found to be deceased.

The deceased is a clean cut white male with brown hair who appears to be in his early 20’s with no identifying marks or tattoos.

The coroner was called to the scene and will release the identity of the person, as well as the cause and manner of death.
